A brief statement of donation options are as follows:

1) 1 month support for an orphan/needy child for food and health care

We work for the poorest of poor children under Diamond Harbour Block II of West Bengal. Orphans need help as relatives are unable to provide two square meals for the children nor can they help in their schooling. Apart from total orphans there are children of single parent and also who have their parents but they cannot afford to give their children proper nutrition. The School going children here are malnourished due to their parents / guardian's very poor socio economic condition. Most days a large number of children come to school without food. We have a list of 1000 poor Orphan/Needy children and through Give India we are trying to support them time to time for their survival.

Till 31st December 2011 Bani Mandir made 701 donations out of which Give India donors contributed 561 units

2) Provide a poor aged person with monthly supply of groceries & medical care

This option supports a poor elderly person who has no capacity to work hard and solely depends on his/her son or daughter's family or another. The support offers him/her a peaceful and dignified life. We have made a list of 500 such poor elderly persons and Give India Donor's support made many of them to get food security. Till 31st December 2011 Bani Mandir made 378 donations out of which Give India donors contributed 305 units

3) Provide 25 underprivileged children an outing to a zoo or a park in and around Kolkata

We work for the under privileged children Diamond Harbour Block II of West Bengal. 25 (Twenty five) under privileged children are taken to Kolkata once in a year for seeing museum, Zoo, Planetarium, Victoria Memorial, Science City, NICCO Park etc. for gathering knowledge as well as recreation.

Till 31st December 2011 Bani Mandir made 52 donations out of which Give India donors contributed 44 unit

4) Provide 25 very poor aged people a one day outing

This option provides an elderly person recreation from a tour of different famous landmarks in and around Kolkata. Like, Kalighat, Belur Math, Daksineswar etc. These people have never had an opportunity of visiting such places before.

Till 31st December 2011 Bani Mandir made 14 donations out of which Give India donors contributed 12 units

5) Computer Training Programme for 10 rural youth

One year Computer Training Programme from a Government Approved Computer Training Centre with recognized certificate can give way for an employment in I.T or Printing Industries to a poor rural youth, even with a school leaving certificate. The training course are as follows course:- II Basic + DOS + Window + Office (Word + Excel + Power Point) + Photoshop +Internet and course II : Basic + DOS + Window + Page Maker + Corel draw + Photoshop + Digital Printing. Training period 2-3 hours per day 3 days per week, 50 weeks in a year. Children were selected through interview based on Socio-economic and Educational Status for the Training for Job assurance & Skill development.

Till 31st December 2011 Bani Mandir made 6 donations out of which Give India donors contributed 4 units

6) A cycle rickshaw for a poor villager as a livelihood

Income Generation through plying of Rickshaw-Van can earn in average Rs. 200 per day by carrying goods as well as passengers. This earning helps the very poor villager's family to get a better livelihood.

Till 31st December 2011 Bani Mandir made 24 donations out of which Give India donors contributed 20 units

7) Goat rearing for a woman for the livelihood support of her poor family

Goat rearing is a very good Income generation for the rural poor. One female goat usually gives birth twice a year with 1-3 kids at a time i.e. 2-6 kids in a year. At 6 months the kid goat are sold at Rs. 200 per kg (Average kids after 6 months are around 6-8 kg.). Within a couple of years the owner can earn 8 to 20 thousand per year.

8) 1 day medical camp for 50 poor elderly people.

One medical Practitioner used to visit a common spot in our operating villages where old people can come easily for treatment. Camps held in different places for 50 patients at a time. Our regular Medical checkup/treatment camp is in Khordanahala Campus where the medical centre runs once in a week. These camps are apart from that.

Till 31st December 2011 Bani Mandir made 41 donations out of which Give India donors contributed 29 units

9) Health and nutrition care for a poor pregnant woman during 7 months pre natal and 1 month post natal period

Poor Pregnant Women are getting support with regular check up, nutrition's care, Iron, vitamin & other medicines and the conveyance for Institutional delivery at Govt. Hospital also.

Till 31st December 2011 Bani Mandir made 43 donations out of which Give India donors contributed 38 units

10) 1 day health education & counseling for 30 adolescent girls

Education for Sexual Health and necessary treatment for Adolescents Girls through a Health Camp at different places by a lady Gynecologist and Councilor organized by Bani Mandir in collaboration with the community Adult Women. All the girls are from the schools in nearby villages.

11) Help a poor villager set up a small grocery shop

The village women of Diamond Harbour Block II are improving themselves through several Economic Programme. Grocery Shop is one of them. If the different goods (materials) is stocked in the shop the sale of the shop will be high definitely. 1 male and 1 female were helped by us. So the increase sale will help the poor villager's family to get a better livelihood. This is for poor villager's Income Generation Programme only; not for any special category of people like women, elderly people etc.

Till 31st December 2011 we have received 2 units of donation from Give India Donors.

12) Help a poor villager set up a tea stall

A Tea Stall in a Centre place of the village where majority of the villagers pass through. The stall used to be run by Husband and Wife jointly...
